#23 Finish a Quilt

I was originally going to finish a quilt I got from my grandma that was started by not actually finished for this goal of mine BUT, Christian's grandma sent me some really cute fabric squares to make a quilt for the baby girl on the way. And that seemed more fun since. I've been really excited to get some pink in the house.

I cut the fabric squares down to the size I wanted.

I bought some white and blue to go in between the fabric squares. Then there was more cutting. I carefully assembled the squares the way I wanted them so the quilt would look balanced between the  different colors and prints.

I sewed them all together.

Then I went out and bought pink and white fabric for the border. (I used the same pink and white fabric for the back of the quilt, which I didn't feel like taking a picture of.)

I put the top of the quilt, the batting, and the backing together and machine quilted most of it. I couldn't decide what I wanted for the squares so I cheated a little and just added a yarn tie in the middle of each one instead of machine quilting in each one. It took a lot less time!

I sewed on the binding fabric and hand stitched it in the back. And there you go! It's finished! And just in time, too.
